We are providing education for children who are unable to go to school either because of poverty or family circumstances. Our school is near Bodhgaya, Bihar, India.
The place is a Buddhist pilgrim site as Buddha is to have attained supreme enlightenment here. There are still many challenges here with high levels of illiteracy rate and many children are not attending school. Our belief is that through education we can bring about changes in their lives. Education is the right of every child.

Why We Started

In the outskirts of Bodhgaya many families rely on the large families and children to help with farming. Poverty and illiteracy is a real problem in this part of Bihar. Many parents because of poverty parents don’t want to send their children to school. Due to poverty and general disempowerment, many children are instead sent to beg near the UNESCO world heritage site of the Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya.

Our small team of teachers will go to nearby rural villages and convince the parents to send their children to our school where we provide them with simple but good education.
